Subsoiler / Soil Loosener

These inline subsoilers are designed for soil loosening and aeration work to promote air circulation, water absorption, and facilitate crop root growth.

Due to the shape of the shanks and their blades, a uniform fracturing of the soil is achieved with minimal variation in its natural layers; for this reason, we call them “low-disturbance”

How does the Baabor subsoiler work?

The subsoiler is attached to the tractor through the rear three-point hitch. The tractor pulls the implement and lowers its arms, allowing the shanks to dig into the ground to the desired working depth. The front control roller and the height position in which it is set determine the working depth of the shanks. Meanwhile, the roller height is hydraulically adjusted via cylinders controlled from the tractor cab. There is a depth scale as a reference for the operator. Additionally, this roller has weed-cutting discs positioned in front of each shank.

In this situation, the tractor moves forward with the shanks stuck in the ground, and at the same time, the blades attached to the lower part of the shanks cut the soil and lift it vertically. This creates a gentle wave-like movement of the soil, breaking it apart without turning it over.

A greater or lesser disturbance of the surface is achieved by changing the blade’s angle of attack, through shortening or lengthening the tractor’s third point.

Subsoiler Models

We classify subsoiler models into two series: Series S and SF (foldable), both with hydraulic cylinders.

In these series, the subsoilers have retractable shanks in case of excess effort

This series refers to foldable subsoiler models. The operation in terms of protection is the same as Series S (retractable shanks), but they also feature 2 independent front control rollers.

Types of Blades on Subsoilers

We have different types of blades for our subsoilers, as we know that not all soils have the same requirements. Therefore, in addition to the conventional blade, we offer you other alternatives in case you need greater strength and durability.

Standard Blade

This is the conventional blade, made of Hardox 500, a very durable material. It performs very well in all types of conditions, lifting and breaking up the soil.

Standard Blade with Tungsten Carbide

Same shape as the standard blade, but with tungsten carbide inserts, which provides higher durability, up to 7 times more than the conventional blade.

Asymmetric Blade

Blade made of Hardox with an asymmetric shape. It has a wing on one side at the back, which achieves greater soil fracturing, especially in wet conditions. It can also be used in dry conditions.

Asymmetric Blade with Tungsten Carbide

Same shape and application as the Hardox asymmetric shovel, but with tungsten carbide inserts, which gives it greater durability.
